One thing that seems to be missing in the tandem world is a more comprehensive buyers guide. By that I suggest not just manufacturer material and list price but also a listing of key components (shifters wheelset etc.). Perhaps the buyers guide could be linked to reviews provided by owners or those who have taken test rides?

The only reason I do not find the bulletin board as usefull as everything else is that I often find out about the item in TH or DF first.
Things listed as "not useful" to me are because I have not needed them and therefore not used these resources.
Xtra comment: Is the DF site part of the TandemLink? I certainly use that to look people up sometimes. Wasn't sure whether that meant I should click "Locator information" above.

Hello Mark strangely enough my wife and I purchased a Ventana mountian bike based on little more than your write-up / review and the fact that you own one yourself. <grin> In fact we just received the bike this past Monday and managed to put it together - once again due to the info on your site - late last night. Neither my wife nor I are "techies" so getting our S&S bike in pieces and parts without ever having seen it assembled was a bit "intersting!" The photos on your site were referenced more than a few times in response to "so how's this suppossed to look?" Thanks for the great info!

I did not check any areas as "not useful." The ones I haven't visited I simply haven't needed YET. Frankly I don't look at The Tandem Link.com often but when I do I appreciate it...it's a very good site.

I have been a Tandem owner for over 4 1/2 years and have only recently discovered The TandemLink.com along with Tandem@Hobbs and DOUBLE_FORTE.
I have tried subscribing twice in 3 months to the double forte forum. It seems there is no one processing the "pending" memberships
I just surf anything tandem Its a layout thing for me probably color change the color and jazz up the layout. Sorry about the superfisial nature of these coments but knowing the depth of knowladge about tanderming i don't want to coment on any thing else!

I think that it is a good resource. I often hit it in the afternoon from my desk when I start daydreaming of riding. I used it extensively while shopping for my quad late last year
I usually only go to your site when I see a link to it on one of the tandem related e-mails.
I wish I had the time to check your site everyday. (As I wish I could read every posting on Tandem@Hobbes everyday.) Unfortunately like most there simply isn't enough time in the day (or night) to absorb it all.

Mark so far your website is the best single tandem resource that I've found on the web. I've bookmarked several others but mostly I just go through the TandemLink to find whatever I'm looking for.
Mark the website is excellent. I have only 2 concerns: first the font used on the new build in 2003 is very difficult for 40+ eyes to read. Ironically the archived text is better. A larger font with more contrast would be better. Second the updates are sometimes infrequent - I realize the work involved but weekly additions to the bulletin are very important it's the change in text that catches the reader. Perhaps get some undated general items to add to the page during slow news times.
Mark your site is very useful. When I need info on a bicylcing related topic I can usually find the link on your site. As the owner of 3 tandems (my wife and I captain with our children behind and a triple for when our 3 yr old is big enough) I have passed along your URL to many of my riding friends for information on tandems. Take care.
Much of the information of the site is not usful to me only because we live in Montana. It is still interesting to see what happens in the part of the courtry where there are many tandems and people.

some of the links are outdated such as manufacturers and rides. The links help us find different rides and ideas.If you could provide more tandem rallies in the western US.I think you guys are doing a great job.
Sometimes too much information can be harmful not helpful. In my opinion you have too much information on your site. It must take up way too much of your time to keep the site running and updated--you should simplify things and save yourself some time.

That enter key is a tough habit to break. Anyway I just want to say that your site is the best tandem-specific site I've found on the web. I scanned the web for nearly a year before I purchased my first tandem (used Burley Rock'n Roll Softride) in April 2002. I found your site to be the most helpful as far as gathering the tons of info I needed to convince myself and my wife that the startup expenses were worth it. This was a huge step for me since I had never owned a multi-geared bike before. Granted I was way over my head but I repeatedly went to your website to find helpful information so I wouldn't wreck the bike or ruin my stoker. I have found the Bulletin Board Links and Club/Events pages especially helpful (I sure wish there was a South Carolina club). Keep it up with the great updates--your changing info keeps me coming back each week. Perhaps I'll get the chance to meet you some day--I'm seriously considering my first tandem rally to be the Georgia Rally in May.

Use this site to access DF Forum. I find the collection of links to be the most outstanding part of this site. This site is THE best resource for the tandem community from a technical resource standpoint. Mark keep up the good work.
We are tourists and enjoy links to travel reports and info re. travel how tps for different states and countries.
We bought our first tandem early this summer. Prior to that I searched the web for info. I came across The TandemLink and found it to be the resource I was looking for. Everything else I came across was limited and/or not very well organised. It was every helpfull and facilitated finding any info I was looking for. I still use it as a starting place for many of my searches for information.
